Active Members the Louisiana State Firemen's Association enjoy the following benefits:

• DEATH BENEFIT FUND
This fund was developed to help the spouse and/or beneficiary of deceased members. The amount of up to $15,000.00 will be paid directly to the beneficiary upon receipt of a death certificate. To qualify, a fatality must have occurred in the line of duty, en route to or from an organized fire department function or training.

• LEGISLATIVE REPRESENTATION
The Louisiana State Fireman's Association establishes a year round committee to oversee the legislative process and protect fire departments and members from unwanted and/or negative legislation. The Legislative Committee also introduces legislation that benefits the fire service in Louisiana.

• TRAINING
At the annual Louisiana State Fireman's Association Conference each August, nationally known speakers discuss topics that benefit the Louisiana fire service and L.S.F.A. members.

• SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
A $500.00 scholarship fund is available through Louisiana State University at Eunice and another at Delgado College in New Orleans for second year Fire Science students.

• YEARBOOK
This is an annual publication and official record of the Louisiana State Fireman's Association. Member departments publicize their activities and accomplishments. Vendors from across Louisiana advertise services that are available.

• THE BLAZE
A magazine regularly published by the Louisiana State Fireman's Association, highlights current events and news articles from throughout Louisiana. The magazine also has a wealth of information on legislative issues, interesting stories and a listing of all officers of the L.S.F.A. with mailing addresses, telephone numbers and emails. It is a great resource for future use.
