Room Update for Conferance

Due to the overwhelming response in the attendance of our 2012 LSFA Conference in Shreveport, we extend the opportunity for those who still need to book a reservation to the Holiday Inn in downtown Shreveport (approx. 4-5 blocks from Sam’s Town and approx. 6 blocks from the Hilton Convention Center). Please call 318-222-7717 and let them know you are with the LSFA Conference held at the Hilton Convention Center. The rate remains the same as the other 2 hotels.

Anyone interested in a hospitality room for the 2012 conference there is three options.

1. At Sams Town there are 3 rooms with adjoining doors that rent for thee hundred a night. You can bring in what ever you would like (food and drink)

2. Holiday Inn there is no charge and you can bring in whatever you want. This hotel is 6 blocks from the convention Center. contact Bruce Brewer if interested.

3. Shreveport Convention Center, One very large room approximately (180' by 180') there is no charge and you can bring in anything you want, how ever City of Shreveport Law says you have to use their bartender. I'm working with the city on the charge but we have to use one. Contact Bruce Brewer if interested.

THERE ARE PLENTY OF ROOMS FOR THE CONFERENCE IN SHREVEPORT AT SAM'S TOWN HOTEL AND CASINO. THE CODE IS SO8FIRE. SAM'S TOWN IS ABOUT 2 BLOCKS FROM THE HILTON. THE RATES ARE THE SAME AS THE HILTON, $119.00 PER NIGHT. THERE ARE HOSTILITY ROOMS STILL AVAILABLE AT $300.00 PER NIGHT AT SAM'S TOWN ALSO. Tuition Reimbursement Check in 2nd Dist.

Richard Parker, 2nd Dist. Rep. presenting a tuuition reimbursement check for $8000.00 to Live Oak Vol. Fire Dept. Firefighter Turnisha Griffin. She is employed by the Jefferson Parish Eastbank Consolidated Fire department and enrolled at Our Lady of Holy Cross majoring in Psychology.

2012 Legislative Breakfast

The Legislative Breakfast is scheduled for Tuesday, March 27, 2012, 7:30 am to 9:30 am, and will be held in the Ellender Room in the basement of the State Capitol. Invitations have been sent to all State Senators and State Representative to attend. Come out and meet your Rep.

2012 La Fallen Firefighter Memorial

Louisiana Fallen Firefighter's Memorial Ceremony will take place on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 10:30 am on the grounds of the State Fire Marshal's Office located at 8181 Independence Blvd. Baton Rouge LA. Reception to follow, provided by " Custom Security Systems". Arrangements for indoor accommodations in the case of inclement weather have been made. We are asking all fire departments that wish to participate to bring their department banners. Please arrive at 9:30 am.

FMAL Day at the Races

The 2nd annual Day at the Races benefiting the Fire Marshal Association of Louisiana will be on March 9, 2012. The event will start at 11:00, and end at 5:00pm with lunch included. first race starts at 12:40pm It will be held at the Fairground Race Course and slots located at 1751 Gentilly Blvd. in New Orleans. Come join State Fire Marshal H. "Butch" Browning and the rest of the assocation for a fun day.

On the first screen, input the arrival and departure dates, then click on the GO button
Once you are taken to the second screen, this is where guests complete the reservations details (including stay information and room type preferences.
After completing the Stay Information and Room Type Preferences sections, scroll down to the Special Accounts section. Then click on the CONTINUE button.
Now guests can select the room they prefer (Double-Queen or King) at the group rate and complete their reservation.

Please remind your attendees that all reservations must be made July 8, 2012, in order to receive the discounted group rate. The hotel will continue to accept reservations from Group’s attendees after that date; however, rooms will be at the prevailing rate and subject to availability.
